INSTRUCTOR HIRE

The majority of our instructors have a youth work background with a passion for the outdoors and a wealth of experience delivering the DofE Awards. Having worked with local authorities, outdoor education providers, the Scouts organisation and many other large youth organisations, our staff have the skills, knowledge and experience to ensure your expedition is a success.

If you simply require an instructor to oversee or support your expedition we will happily hire out our instructors at a very competitive rate. We also have available accredited DofE Assessors who can assess all Bronze, Silver and Gold expeditions.





EQUIPMENT HIRE

Gateway Adventure recognises the pressures that can be imposed on parents/guardians when it comes to the initial kitting out a son or daughter who is embarking on their DofE expedition training. These pressures are somewhat increased if there are other siblings. Although some items of personal expedition kit are essential for each individual, it is possible to hire certain items to ease costs. A limited number of items are available including:-

First Aid kits
Mess Tins
Roll Mats
Rucksacks (65 litre)
Sleeping Bags
Stoves (Alpine gas stove)
Tents (2 & 3 man)
Trowels
Waterproof Jackets
Waterproof Trousers


TRAINING & SUPPORT

Gateway Adventure are aware of how much time it takes staff within a school or workplace/organisation to co-ordinate and administer the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award in an already pressured environment. This is where we come in! Gateway Adventure can be on hand to deliver eDofE training packages for adult volunteers who need to get to grips with the ins and outs of managing a Duke of Edinburgh’s Award unit. We can come in to the school on a regular basis or manage the participants remotely where we visit the school or organisation when required.
